Job summary

Transforming Age is seeking a part-time Wait Staff at Eastmont in Lincoln, NE. You will serve meals and beverages to residents in a restaurant-style dining room, with shift hours 4:30pm–7:30pm or 4:55pm–7:30pm, and you must be at least 16 years old.

The role emphasizes excellent communication, teamwork, and reliability, along with following health regulations and contributing to a welcoming residential environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve food and beverages with a pleasant demeanor in the dining room.
• Assist with daily cleaning tasks: bus tables, reset tables, and related duties.
• Comply with federal/state health regulations and food code requirements.
• Ensure foods are kept at proper temperatures.
• Assist with training or cross-training staff and communicate issues to the Director.
• Participate in mandatory trainings and adhere to Eastmont policies.

This role pays $15.50 per hour. The shift for this role is 4:30pm to 7:30pm or 4:55 pm to 7:30 pm

What You Need To Succeed

• Must have good communication skills and be able to read, write, take menu orders, and speak English well enough to communicate effectively with residents, family members and peers.
• Desire to work with senior adults and their families.
• Good organizational skills.
• Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and want to work in a team environment.
• Must be able to relate to other people by giving and receiving instructions: (a) can get along with co-workers or peers without exhibiting behavioral extremes; (b) perform work activities requiring negotiating, instructing, supervising, persuading or speaking with others; and (c) respond appropriately to criticism from a supervisor.
• Maintains confidentiality of resident information.
• Be honest, dependable and reliable.
• Be able to pass a Food Prep Safe Course provided by Eastmont. Must be able to frequently stand, walk, bend, stoop, grasp and talk.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

• Serves food and beverages with a pleasant demeanor, restaurant style to residents in the dining room.
• Accomplishes other duties to include, but not limited to: clean, bus tables, reset tables and complete required assigned daily cleaning tasks.
• Complies with all federal and state health regulations and current food code requirements.
• Ensures foods are maintained at proper temperatures.
• May assist with training new staff and/or cross training current staff. Communicates any problems or concerns with the Director.
• Participates in personal and professional growth by attending mandatory in-services, scheduled department meetings and any other required training on or off campus.
• Understands and adheres to all policies and procedures at Eastmont as set forth in departmental policies and the Employee Handbook.
• Promote the Mission, Vision and Values of Transforming Age in all areas of responsibility, and demonstrate commitment to Culture of Excellence and strategic goals.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience

Must be at least age 16.
