Eastern US Regional Safety Manager – E2 Optics

What You’ll Do
  • Promote safety as the company’s top core value and enforce company and client work‑site safety policies.
  • Develop and manage corporate safety initiatives to build a world‑class program for all Eastern US regional sites.
  • Work with personnel at all levels to achieve consistent safe practices throughout the region.
  • Provide support to regional field leaders, build awareness of evolving environmental, health and safety issues, and adopt best practices.
  • Maintain accident‑prevention and loss‑mitigation programs, and provide construction operations leadership consistency.
  • Determine corrective or preventive measures and verify implementation.
  • Communicate expectations, goals, standards, and metrics used to measure progress.
  • Attend and support required safety management meetings at all levels.
  • Follow up on action items based on KPIs and verify completion.
  • Manage safety training needs in accordance with E2 Optics and customer guidelines.
  • Provide technical and regulatory compliance expertise across the region.
  • Manage compliance inspections, audits, and associated tracking.
  • Maintain safety files and records for field audits to verify results and support reporting.
  • Lead accident and injury investigations, preparing evidence for hearings, lawsuits and insurance investigations.
  • Compile and submit accident reports required by regional partners.
  • Administer the workers’ compensation program with HR and insurance carriers to reduce employee lost time.
  • Support HR with drug, alcohol and medical screening of employees.
  • Travel as required by E2 Optics.
What We Are Looking For
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Environmental Science Safety, Occupational Safety and Health Management, Business Management, Psychology or related field.
  • 5+ years of safety management experience in progressively responsible leadership roles (considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree).
  • Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) required; ASP/CSP/SMS certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of training design, instruction, and training effect measurement.
  • 5–10 years of progressively responsible leadership in occupational health and safety, preferably in construction or manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with federal, state and local environmental, health and safety laws.
  • Experience with inspections, incident investigations, process safety, contractor safety, safety training, hazard reviews and job safety analysis.
  • Experience with safety management programs.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, MS Project).
  • Solid working knowledge of policies, procedures and strategies to promote effective operations and protect people, data, property and site.
  • Understanding of business and management principles for strategic planning, resource allocation and safety modeling.
  • Knowledge of relevant construction methods, materials and tools.
  • Strong communication, active listening, critical thinking, judgment, decision making, systems analysis and complex problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent time‑management abilities.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

The standard work environment for this position is an indoor business office and construction setting. Noise levels are usually moderate. The employee regularly sits, talks, hears, uses hands, stoops, kneels, reaches, stands, walks and lifts or moves up to 50 pounds. The employee may need to climb ladders to 20 feet, operate scissor lifts, telehandlers, boom lifts and UTVs (buggies), and work in confined spaces.
