Job summary

Metropolitan Council Environmental Services seeks a Business Unit Manager for the East Business Unit to lead operations across four wastewater plants, with 2–35 MGD capacity. You will supervise 25–35 staff, set priorities, and ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

You will develop short- and long-term plans, manage budgets, coordinate hiring and training, and drive efficiency through process improvements and performance monitoring.

Qualifications

• Background in wastewater treatment or related field is required or highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for the East Business Unit's operation and maintenance of multiple wastewater treatment plants.
• Oversee staff scheduling, prioritize work, and ensure conformance to standards, policies, and procedures.
• Set performance goals, monitor staff performance, and provide coaching and development.
