Job summary

NScale is seeking a senior utility development leader to drive East region data center projects, integrating grid capacity, on-site generation, and reliability strategies. You’ll partner with utilities, ISOs/RTOs, and vendors to ensure timely energization and compliant interconnections.

The role requires 8–12+ years in large-scale infrastructure, fiber connectivity experience, and a proven ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical/Civil Engineering or related field.
• 8–12+ years in utility development or grid-connected infra with large data centers or industrial loads.
• Proven experience with utilities and ISOs/RTOs in Eastern U.S. markets.
• Track record leading complex multi-stakeholder projects from concept to energization.
• Experience securing fiber connectivity and negotiating with fiber providers.

Responsibilities

• Develop and own utility development strategy for East region data center projects.
• Lead engagements with utilities, ISOs/RTOs, and transmission owners from diligence to energization.
• Coordinate with water/sewer authorities to secure capacity for data center cooling and domestic uses.
• Oversee fiber route planning and coordination with providers to ensure connectivity.
• Act as utility development owner from due diligence through energization.
• Lead a small analyst team and mentor colleagues.
