The Connecticut Department of Administrative Services is seeking seasonal maintainers for various facilities. Responsibilities include maintenance tasks such as mowing, cleaning, and equipment upkeep. Candidates must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver's license. The role may require physical strength and the ability to work in adverse weather conditions. Supervisors must have first aid certification and may need additional licenses.
Introduction
Maintainers Needed: Spring through early Winter, not exceeding 1,030 hours total.

Purpose of Job Class
As a limited duration employee within the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, performs seasonal tasks and duties.
Examples of Duties
Maintain facilities such as boat launches, dams, and managed lands, including mowing, trimming, cleaning, custodial work, preventative equipment maintenance, litter pickup, and painting. Work may involve adverse weather, heavy lifting, and operation of construction equipment, sawmills, brush cutters, woodchippers, tractors, and medium-duty vehicles with trailers. Skills in carpentry, plumbing, mechanical repairs, grounds maintenance, fire crew duties, and related tasks may be required. Must be at least 18 years old with a valid driver’s license.

Ability to follow instructions.
Special Requirements
Supervisors of small recreational units must perform emergency first aid and obtain a Basic First Aid Certificate. Certain positions may require proof of a valid Motor Vehicle Operator license, pesticide applicator license, college training, EMT certification, or lifeguard certification with ARC. EMT or MRT certification may substitute for CPR and First Aid requirements.
Physical Requirements
Must have adequate physical strength and stamina. Lifeguard roles require demonstrating ARC waterfront swimming skills.
