Job summary

Mountain Engineering is seeking an experienced Vegetation Program Lead to support PG&E's EA Team in the East Bay. The VPL will lead vegetation management operations, oversee contractor work, and ensure compliance with safety regulations and PG&E standards.

This role leverages deep hazard tree removal and emergency response experience to guide project teams and resolve complex challenges. The position requires leadership in project execution, coordination with agencies and field crews, and a

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a job-related discipline or equivalent experience.
• Two years of job-related experience with at least one year in a leadership role as a team or project leader.
• Two years of experience in emergency response and/or hazard tree removal projects along utility rights of way.
• Familiar with vegetation management contractors’ work practices, arboricultural techniques and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Leads vegetation management operations and outside contractor work performance.
• Works independently to solve moderate to highly complex problems and guides project goals.
• Leads project teams to complete required tasks.
• Performs lead duties for emergency response following safety requirements and regulations.
• Supports VM process improvements, scheduling and coordination.
• Assists with difficult customer scenarios as directed by the Program Manager.
• Clarifies expectations and directions for contractor employees with PG&E representation.
• Monitors progress of pre-inspection and tree work completion.
• Participates in agency meetings and field reviews of VM work.
• Manages routine and non-routine projects and contract reviews.
• Performs data-analysis tasks to identify issues.
