Job summary

Mountain Engineering is seeking an experienced Vegetation Program Lead to support PG&E's Distribution Team in the East Bay. This role manages vegetation operations, ensures safety and regulatory compliance, and leads project teams across contractor work and field activities.

The VPL will draw on expertise in hazard tree removal, emergency response, and familiarity with PG&E vegetation practices to drive program execution and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent experience.
• Two years of experience with at least one year in a leadership role.
• Two years of experience in emergency response.
• Two years of experience in hazard tree removal projects along utility rights of way.
• Familiar with PG&E vegetation management contractors’ work practices and line clearance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead vegetation management operations and oversee contractor work.
• Solve moderate to highly complex problems and lead project teams.
• Lead emergency response duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations.
• Support VM process improvements, scheduling and coordination of VM activities.
• Assist with contractor communications and agency meetings as directed by the Program Manager.
• Monitor progress of pre-inspection and tree work completion.
• Assist in management of contracts and project management tasks.
