Job summary

B&S Site Development in the Richmond area is seeking an Estimator to join the estimating and business development teams. You will prepare take‑offs and competitive bid proposals for large‑scale civil projects, with a focus on site/earthwork knowledge and accurate data.

The role involves plan take‑offs, vendor quotes, quantity calculations, specification review, RFIs, and value engineering. Experience with AGTEK, Bluebeam, and WorksManager is highly preferred, along with strong communication and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction, Engineering, Building Science, or related field.
• Strong understanding of construction take‑offs and estimating principles.
• Familiarity with quality, safety, and compliance standards.
• Proficiency with MS Outlook and MS Office Suite.
• Experience with AGTEK, Bluebeam, and WorksManager is highly preferred.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong multitasking abilities and a clear understanding of core estimating duties.
• Exceptional organizational and time‑management skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare take‑offs and bid proposals for large‑scale projects.
• Perform plan take‑offs and vendor quote solicitation.
• Quantity calculations and specification review; pricing development.
• RFI tracking and value‑engineering recommendations.
• Assist superintendents with GPS‑related issues on site and remotely.
• Support configuration of new devices and data collectors within WorksManager.
• Collaborate with field personnel to ensure GPS layout accuracy.
• Produce accurate cut sheets and as‑built documentation.
• Solicit and organize quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.
