Job summary

Xcel Energy/SWS seeks a Substation Electrician Apprentice (1st–4th Year) or Journeyman to join the team in Seminole, TX. The role involves learning and performing construction and maintenance on electrical substations, with opportunities to advance through a four-year apprenticeship program.

Candidates must have a HS diploma or GED, CDL within 120 days, CAST, ability to travel, and strong safety mindset. Excellent teamwork and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• CDL Class A or ability to obtain within 120 days.
• Must pass Edison Electric Institute's CAST.
• Willing to respond to after-hours and weekend callouts.
• Willing to travel extensively.
• Physically capable to lift up to 90 lbs and work in confined spaces.
• Must pass the DOT physical examination.
• Committed to safety, quality and customer service.
• Preferred: utility industry experience.
• Must reside within 30 miles of Seminole, TX Xcel Energy Service Center.
