Position Title: Early Start Intake Service Coordinator
Title of Immediate Supervisor: Early Start Intake Program Manager
Salary Range: $53,666-$78,486
Summary Of Position
This position provides intake assessments for children ages 0-3.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Complete intake developmental evaluations for infants and toddlers under 3 years of age who are referred to the Early Start Intake Unit.
- Work directly with families to schedule in-person, intake evaluation appointments within the natural environment, such as the family’s home.
- Complete a DAYC-2 developmental evaluation tool, hearing screening tool, and vision screening tool.
- Complete an M-CHAT-R screening tool when appropriate.
- Review all case records, including medical and legal documents.
- Recommend additional evaluations, such as OT, PT, and ST evaluations, when appropriate.
- Write a psychosocial report including caregiver concerns regarding the infant or toddler’s development.
- Complete and submit all documentation following agency procedures and timelines.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, Special Education, or a related field, plus two years of professional experience working with infants and toddlers under 3 years of age. Bilingual English/Spanish skills required. Must possess a valid California Driver’s License.

- Mathematical proficiency in basic operations, percentages, and graph interpretation.
- Strong problem-solving and data analysis skills.
Certificates and Licenses
Valid California Driver’s License.
Physical Demands
Regularly sit, handle, and communicate verbally. Frequently walk, reach, and lift up to 10 pounds; occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Visual acuity required for close and distance vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
