Job summary

Rexel USA in Tacoma, WA, is hiring a Warehouse Associate/Branch Driver I to join the Platt team. Work hours 4:30AM-1:30PM. Primary duties include filling orders, receiving and shipping materials, and maintaining the warehouse and equipment.

The role may involve up to 50% delivering to customers or branches in a delivery van. A valid driver’s license is required; no CDL is needed. DOT compliance and safety are essential, with comprehensive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• No experience required.
• Prior warehouse experience a plus.
• Certification to operate forklift, hand truck, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment preferred.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must pass a pre-employment and annual review of the Motor Vehicle Record.
• Must obtain verification of non-expired medical certificate as required by law within 30 days of hire.
• Must not have had a suspended driver's license for a traffic accident/violation within the past 3 years.
• Must not have any at fault accidents in the past 3 years.
• High School or GED - Preferred.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to a culture and environment focused daily on employee safety and a safe work environment.
• Follow established Standard Operating Procedures and Environmental Health and Safety Rules.
• Receive material into the building and verify quantity and description against packing lists.
• Keep incoming orders stocked and report freight damage claims.
• Prepare branch orders for shipment and ensure correct product type.
• Process shipment paperwork and ensure correct postage and labeling.
• Operate forklift, reach truck, and wire cutting machine as required.
• Load common carrier and company vehicles.
• Perform basic maintenance on equipment.
• Perform inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
• Operate delivery vehicles to make deliveries to customers, branches, and suppliers.
• Inspect vehicles and complete daily inspection reports.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and alert for repairs.
• Comply with DOT and local driving laws.
• Assist in preparing orders for delivery as needed.
• Complete delivery documentation with customer signature and packing lists.
• May be involved in counter sales and customer support.
