Job summary

Diagnostic Laboratories & Radiology is seeking a phlebotomist with mobile experience for an early morning schedule in California. The role includes dispatch liaison, route execution, and teamwork with multiple departments to ensure smooth operations.

Responsibilities cover shift start, mileage tracking, supply coordination, and training of new staff. A valid driver’s license and CPT/Phleb Level 1 certification are required.

Qualifications

• One year mobile phlebotomy experience is required.
• Licenses and certifications listed are required at hire.

Responsibilities

• Checks in with dispatch at 2:00am to confirm phlebotomist call-offs and AM run amendments.
• Completes volume-appropriate route.
• Keeps apprised of AM facility clearance, including UTOs and same-day refusals.
• Develops good rapport with dispatch to ensure clear communication.
• Trains new phlebotomists when no trainer is designated for the area.
• Attends facility start-up in-service with APS.
• Performs quarterly trunk checks.
• Accounts for all route sheets daily (including prior days).
• Updates mileage in Datarrive and makes next-day changes.
• Assists APS in ordering supplies and closing orders when needed.
• Assists APS with centrifuge logs and binders as required.
• Assists APS with butterfly logs/usage as needed.
• Works cooperatively with Laboratory Dispatch, Courier Dispatch, Couriers, Accessioning, Customer Service and Data Entry.
