Qualifications

• Minimum 16 years old.
• Current Ellis Lifeguard certification with CPR, First Aid, AED and O2.
• Maintains 'Test Ready' standards.
• Able to perform all lifeguard physical tasks.
• Complete program orientation by required timeline.

Responsibilities

• Open the pool on time and set a welcoming tone.
• Greet members and maintain a friendly atmosphere.
• Monitor swimmers, enforce pool rules and safety.
• Support lap swim operations and organize lanes as needed.
• Communicate clearly about classes and pool procedures.
• Respond quickly to incidents or emergencies.
• Assist with aquatic programs and events.
• Promote YMCA programs and connect members to opportunities.
• Attend staff trainings and meetings.
• Secure pool area at end of shift.
