Job summary

YMCA of Greater Boston is seeking a Morning Shift Lifeguard at the Menino YMCA to guard the pool during opening hours and ensure patron safety, enforce pool rules, and activate branch emergency protocols.

Position requires active Lifeguard Certifications (YMCA, Red Cross) and being at least 18 years old, with CPR, First Aid, and oxygen training. Shifts start early and may include weekends; duties include incident reports and daily pool maintenance.

Qualifications

• Must have active Lifeguard Certifications (YMCA, Red Cross)
• At least 18 years of age.
• CPR, First Aid, O2 training is required within first weeks of employment.

Responsibilities

• Guard the pool during opening shift and enforce pool rules.
• Respond to emergencies and perform rescues as needed.
• Provide CPR, First Aid and Emergency Oxygen as required.
• Complete incident reports promptly and accurately.
• Maintain a clean and safe pool environment at all times.
• Assist with cleaning and testing of the pool when not on the stand.
• Communicate clearly with supervisors and participate in safety drills.
