Job summary

YMCA in Hanover, MA is seeking a responsible lifeguard for early morning shifts. You will monitor water and deck areas, enforce policies, perform first aid as needed, and keep the pool area clean and organized.

Bring Lifeguard/First Aid/CPR certification if possible; candidates must be 16 or older. Expect to supervise swim lessons and respond calmly to emergencies while representing YMCA values.

Qualifications

• Current Lifeguard/First Aid/CPR Certification preferred (YMCA courses available).
• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
• Previous lifeguarding experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and ensure safety of individuals in and around the pool/waterfront area.
• Respond quickly to emergencies; provide first aid and CPR as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pool area and surrounding facilities.
• Assist with opening and closing duties as assigned.
• Swim lessons will have high supervision with emphasis on safety.
• Answer questions about programs, schedules, policies or direct people to Aquatic Management.
