Job summary

FedEx Freight in Medley, FL is seeking a dockworker to move freight between docks and trailers. You will operate forklift, pallet jack and hand truck, verify freight documents, and secure loads for transit.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Experience in warehousing or freight handling is preferred.
If hostler/yard mule duties required, experience preferred.
Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
Basic written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Transport freight across dock area to/from trailers for loading to trailers.
Perform freight handling using motorized and manual equipment (forklift, pallet jack, hand truck).
Verify documentation matches freight description and adjust as needed.
Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, rope, and other tools.
Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
Assist customers with freight and freight documentation as needed.
Perform hostling duties if required.
Comply with laws, regulations, and company policies; perform other duties as required.
