Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is hiring a dockworker to transport freight across the dock area to and from trailers for loading. You will handle freight with forklifts and pallet jacks, verify documentation, and secure freight for transit.

The role requires basic math, good communication, and the ability to lift and move freight regularly. Early 05:00–09:00 shift and compliance with safety policies are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Prior warehousing or forklift experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Transport freight across dock area to/from trailers for loading to trailers.
• Perform freight handling using forklift, pallet jack and hand truck.
• Verify documentation matches freight description and weights.
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws, regulations and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
