FedEx Freight in Colorado Springs is hiring for a dock worker responsible for transporting freight between dock areas and trailers. You will operate equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks, verify shipment docs, secure freight, and assist customers with documentation.

The role requires physical work and the ability to work in a fast-paced dock environment. The position offers a starting hourly rate with a pay range, and benefits such as medical/dental/vision, 401(k), and paid time off.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Prior warehousing, freight handling and/or forklift experience preferred.
• If hostler/yard mule duties required, experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift/carry hand freight up to 100 pounds and open trailer doors requiring ~75 pounds of lift force, several times per day.
• Ability to bend, twist, squat, pushing/pulling freight throughout shift.
• Ability to work independently and/or as a team member.
• Previous dock/warehouse experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform freight handling using motorized and manual equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jack, hand truck).
• Verify documentation matches freight description (type, weight, hazmat) in current system.
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
