Job summary

FedEx Freight in Indiana is seeking a dock/warehouse worker to transport freight across dock areas, load and unload trailers and assist customers with freight documentation.

Starting pay is $21.16 per hour with shift 04:00–10:00. The role requires basic math, strong safety awareness and ability to operate forklifts and manual equipment. Must be at least 18 and able to work independently or as part of a team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Prior warehousing, freight handling or forklift experience preferred.
• Hostler/yard mule duties experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift/carry hand freight and open trailer doors with lifting force as described in the job posting.
• Ability to bend, twist, squat and move freight throughout shift.
• Work independently and/or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform freight handling using motorized and manual equipment (forklift, pallet jack, hand truck).
• Verify documentation matches freight description (type, weight, hazardous materials).
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps or rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight as needed.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws, regulations and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
