Jeff's bagel run is bringing fresh bagels to Gainesville this summer and seeks dedicated team players to learn the bagel business and help bake in a fast-paced setting. Fully trainable, focused on consistency and quality.

Expect early hours starting as early as 4am, weekend shifts, and opportunities for full-time or part-time work. Benefits include employee discounts, flexible scheduling, and a lively, safe bakery environment as we grow.

Qualifications

• Willing to work in a hot, small space near boiling and baking bagels.
• Must be a good teammate.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to start work as early as 4am.
• Weekend availability required.
• Restaurant or bakery experience is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Prepping and baking bagels.
• Open Bake.
• Knead and shape dough.
• Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes.
• Monitor dough quality and dough rotation/shelf life.
• Maintain a clean and sanitized work area and equipment.
• Open/close the store on time when scheduled.

About us

Our goal at Jeff's bagel run is to bake fresh, bring joy, and build community. We started in our founder's (Jeff) home kitchen in 2019 and have grown to open 34 locations!And now we are coming to Gainesville this summer!We are looking for a dedicated person who is looking to learn the bagel business, and hopefully grow with us as we expand our footprint. We operate as a team, and we close at 2pm everyday!

Restaurant or bakery experience will be a bonus. We will fully train you to execute our process. A great candidate will be disciplined, fast, and take pride in consistency, delivering a quality product day in and day out.

Restaurant or bakery experience would be a bonus. We will fully train to execute our process. A great candidate will be disciplined, fast, and take pride in consistency, delivering a quality product day in and day out.

Must be willing to work in a small, hot space, furiously boiling and baking bagels to keep up with a high demand. Must be a good teammate.

Must be able to lift up to 50lbs and move quickly and efficiently under pressure.

Other potential workload: Cream cheese scooping, vegetable chopping, cookie baking, dishes, general cleaning, and front of house service when needed.

• Understands the importance of all baking procedures and recipes

• Prepping and baking bagels

• Open Bake

• Making all dough mixtures in a timely manner using correct procedures

• Understand rotation and shelf life of raw dough

• Clean and disinfect work area; set-up and break-down work station; and follow and ensure compliance with sanitation and cleaning procedures.

• Proof bagels

• Recognize the importance of time and temperature

• Responsible for opening store on time

• Able to close the entire bakery

• Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes.

• Knead and shape dough

• Operate machinery to mix, knead, and shape dough.

• Monitor the quality of the dough throughout the process.

• Ensure that all equipment is clean and sanitized.

• Maintain a safe and organized work environment.

• Must be able to start work as early as 4am

• Weekend availability required

Job Type: Full-time and Part-Time
