Job summary

Bagel Dock Cafe LLC in Calabash, NC is seeking an enthusiastic Baker Assistant to join our warm bakery team. This role offers the chance to help produce fresh bagels and cafe treats, with an early morning schedule and a friendly, community-focused atmosphere.

You will assist the lead baker, prep dough, operate ovens and mixers, and help maintain cleanliness and safety standards while supporting staff during peak hours.

Qualifications

• Prior bakery/cafe/food service experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of baking techniques and equipment.
• Able to work early morning shifts and weekends.
• Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assist lead baker with daily bagel and baked goods production.
• Measure and mix dough and ingredients per recipes.
• Operate ovens, mixers, and slicers; maintain equipment.
• Ensure proper food handling, storage, and sanitation standards.
• Monitor baking times and maintain product quality.
• Support front-of-house during peak hours.
