The Cambridge Office of Early Childhood is seeking an experienced Early Literacy and Numeracy Coordinator to lead development, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of early family literacy and math programming within the Community Engagement and Family Support Division (CEFS) in Cambridge.

The role partners with community organizations and supports staff to promote positive early learning experiences for families with young children.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, child development, social work, human services, psychology or library sciences with a concentration on early development or related field is preferred.
• Five or more years of experience working with diverse families and young children in early literacy, early childhood education, family engagement, or related setting is required.
• Experience using strength-based, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive approaches when working with families is strongly preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Lead design and delivery of family literacy and numeracy initiatives, collaborating with city stakeholders to expand reach and promote equitable access.
• Coordinate administrative supports with the Office of Early Childhood to align family literacy practices.
• Offer parent education programming that supports understanding of family literacy practices, including workshops, playgroups, and community-building events.
• Oversee Cambridge Book Bike program, including purchasing books and coordinating with community partners.
