Job summary

Early Learning Corps tutors in a Tampa classroom help preschoolers develop literacy and numeracy skills. You’ll deliver proven activities, coach students, and track progress with on-site support. Training is provided and you’ll work closely with teachers to enhance learning outcomes.

Positions run for the 2026-27 school year with 35 hours per week for full-time and part-time options at 25 or 18 hours per week. Ampact administers AmeriCorps programs and offers stipends and education awards.

Qualifications

• Dependable with a history of good attendance.
• Able to follow instructions and improve based on feedback.
• Proficient in basic computer skills (email and navigating online).
• Fluent in English—speaking, reading and writing.
• 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• A citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States.
• Able to successfully complete a background check.

Responsibilities

• Be a caring adult focused on helping students thrive.
• Support preschoolers with learning activities throughout the day.
• Track student progress and meet regularly with the school's on-site coach.
• Conduct skill assessments and enter student scores into tracking software.
• Commit to your own growth through coaching and training.
• Share your experience with community.
