Job summary

YMCA of Central New Mexico is seeking an Early Learning Assistant Site Director to support the program director in leadership, administration, and daily operations of the ECE program in Albuquerque. You will help ensure high-quality care, regulatory compliance, staff development, and family engagement while upholding the YMCA mission.

You will supervise classrooms, mentor staff, and manage curriculum and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or higher in ECE or related field; progress toward degree considered.
• Must meet NM ECECD Assistant Director licensing requirements.
• Current CPR/First Aid certification.
• Minimum two years of early childhood experience and at least one year in a leadership role.
• Knowledge of Brightwheel, Teaching Strategies GOLD, Creative Curriculum, CACFP, and NM licensing regulations.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and database systems.
• Ability to build positive relationships with families, staff, and community partners.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day operations and supervise classrooms.
• Ensure compliance with ECECD licensing regulations and NM guidelines.
• Assist with enrollment, tours, and family communication.
• Coach, mentor, onboard, and evaluate staff.
• Monitor curriculum using Creative Curriculum and Teaching Strategies GOLD.
• Oversee Brightwheel documentation and health records.
• Maintain staffing ratios and assist with scheduling.
• Promote safety and abuse prevention policies.
• Assist with budgeting, purchasing, and fiscal accountability.
• Coordinate monthly family engagement events and liaise with community partners.
• Serve as Acting Early Learning Program Director in the Director's absence.
• Follow YMCA policies including safety and emergencies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
