Job summary

Northwest Regional Education Service District seeks an Instructional Assistant for the Early Learning department at the Columbia Service Center in St. Helens. This role supports individualized education plans (IEP) and IFSPs, under licensed staff guidance, and assists with student supervision and safety across settings.

Qualified applicants have a High School Diploma or GED, are able to assist with mobility needs, and can obtain required clearances. Bilingual Spanish is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift students from wheelchairs and onto changing tables.
• Background Registry clearance required for Early Learning positions.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Spanish language ability preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare instructional materials under teacher direction.
• Provide instruction under licensed staff supervision.
• Assist teachers with student assignments and grading.
• Take and maintain data as required by the licensed teacher.
• Support student safety and behavior in classrooms, recess, and bus loading.
