Job summary

LOGAN Community Resources is seeking a Developmental Therapist to support Early Learning Programs (birth to age 5) in St. Joseph County.

The role includes integrating therapeutic strategies in classrooms, documenting supports for teachers, and delivering trainings on delays and disabilities to teachers and families. The therapist will administer developmental screenings and provide First Steps services for birth–3 in home or natural environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree as required by Indiana First Steps program.
• One year experience with children 0-3 preferred.
• Must be licensed in Indiana as a First Steps Provider.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 pounds with or without adaptive equipment.

Responsibilities

• Devise and implement teaching styles and strategies for Early Learning Programs.
• Facilitate growth of caregivers as teachers by providing resources and support.
• Visit and consult with community service providers and families.
• Prepare Individualized Family Service Plan with parents and agencies.
• Evaluate and record child’s programming and outcomes; update according to standards.
• Provide developmental screenings and report outcomes.
• Plan trainings and activities for families and staff.
• Maintain health and safety of children and confidentiality of families.
