Job summary

ENTERPRISE FOR PROGRESS IN THE COMMUNITY is hiring an Early Learning Coach in Yakima, WA to support ECEAP staff through coaching, training, and continuous quality improvements in accordance with ECEAP standards and state regulations.

You will lead classroom observations, develop quality improvement plans, and deliver staff development across multiple sites while ensuring safety and compliance and fostering positive relationships with staff and families.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education.
  • A minimum of two years working with young children in a group setting.
  • Prior experience as an early learning coach, consultant, mentor or trainer.
  • Ability to work with minimal direction from a supervisor.
  • Willingness and ability to travel alone to all EPIC ECEAP sites and conferences and meetings outside of EPIC’s service area.
  • Valid Washington State Driver’s License & Auto Insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Practice-Based Coaching – shared goal setting, focused observation, feedback and reflection with ECEAP teaching staff
  • Create and monitor classroom quality improvement plans
  • Complete formal & informal classroom observations including scheduled & unscheduled observations, and ECERS-3 classroom assessments in each ECEAP classroom
  • Participate in Early Achievers webinars, trainings and meetings
  • Plan, conduct and evaluate staff training with the ECEAP Content Team
  • Support teaching staff in utilizing Curriculums to fidelity and review lesson plans
  • Ensure classrooms are stocked with supplies and materials at all times
  • Monitor child observations in Teaching Strategies GOLD for compliance and timelines
  • Maintain high quality teaching practices focusing on children’s welfare and readiness
  • Provide ongoing feedback and coaching to teaching staff
  • Follow reporting procedures for Child Abuse and Neglect as required
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with teaching staff
  • Communicate effectively and collaborate with parents and staff
  • Provide training on ongoing child assessment and its connection to teaching and learning
  • Assist staff in problem solving and strategy selection
  • Promote safety in all centers, and adhere to Speak Up, Speak Out initiative
  • Perform classroom and other duties as needed
