Job summary

Richmond County School System in Augusta, GA seeks a Pre-K Paraprofessional to assist the teacher in the classroom and support early literacy, writing and mathematics instruction.

This school-based role requires an associate degree or higher (or equivalent course work), valid Georgia paraprofessional credentials, and the ability to work with students during the 190-day school year while upholding confidentiality and professional standards. Experience in licensed childcare is preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires associate degree or higher with GPA 2.5 or higher
• Alternative: 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours with GPA 2.5 or higher
• High school diploma/equivalent with passing GACE paraprofessional assessment

Responsibilities

• Assists the teacher in the classroom with instruction.
• Supervises students and promotes social, emotional, intellectual, and physical development.
• Attends school staff meetings and participates in professional development.
• Maintains confidentiality and ethical standards regarding student information.
• Supports with reading, writing and math readiness activities.
• Uses school technology, light typing, and emailing as part of daily tasks.
