Job summary

Memorial Healthcare System is seeking a caring classroom assistant to support developmentally appropriate activities for children in our program. You will work with teachers to assess needs, help implement schedules and curricula, supervise children, and ensure safety and licensing standards are met.

This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, CPR certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross), and a minimum of six months' experience with children.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR certification (American Heart Association) required.
• DCF 45-hour certification required.

Responsibilities

• Works with the teacher to assess learning and development needs and develop age-appropriate learning solutions.
• Assist the teacher with implementing the teaching schedule and curriculum.
• Assist teachers with course progress report procedures.
• Supervises children to ensure safety.
• Ensures classroom meets local licensing standards.
• Attends periodic staff meetings.
• Follows accreditation and licensing policies and practices.
