Job summary

Ascend Rehab Services Inc. is seeking an Early Interventionist/Infant Development Specialist to work with infants and toddlers (0–3) in Vallejo, American Canyon, and Napa. The role involves home visits, developmental assessments, and family coaching within a supportive, multidisciplinary team.

Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred) in Child Development or related field, with at least one year of relevant experience. Bilingual abilities (Spanish) are a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of experience in early intervention with children 0–3.
• Experience working in home environments is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Special Education, or closely related field; master’s preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design learning environments and activities promoting developmental skills across cognitive, communication, motor, self-help, and social areas.
• Plan curricula and coordinate personnel, materials, time and space to meet IFSP outcomes.
• Conduct assessments and write detailed developmental reports for children on caseload.
• Coach and support families to enhance child development while empowering parents as experts.

Ascend immediately seeks a dedicated, experienced, passionate, and fun-loving Early Interventionist/Infant Development Specialist to work with infants and toddlers with developmental delays and/or disabilities and their caregivers in the child's natural environment.

The ideal specialists are passionate about working with children aged 0 to 3 and have knowledge of both typical and atypical child development.

The Infant Development Specialist's job duties will include the following:

• Designing learning environments and activities that promote the infant's or toddler's acquisition of skills in a variety of developmental areas, including cognitive processes, communication, motor skills, self-help skills, and social interaction
• Curriculum planning, including the planned interaction of personnel, materials, and time and space, is key to achieving the outcomes in the IFSP for infants or toddlers with disabilities.
• Conducting assessments and writing detailed developmental reports for children on caseload.
• Providing families with information, skills, and support related to enhancing the skill development of the child and working with the infant or toddler with a disability to enhance the child's development while coaching the parents who are the experts on their child

Qualifications & Requirements:

• REQUIREMENT: Must have a minimum of one year of experience in early intervention working with special needs children ages 0 to 3,
• Experience working with children in a home environment is a plus
• A minimum degree (bachelor's) in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Special Education, or a closely related field, such as a master's degree, is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills (Written & Verbal)
• Reliable transportation to patients' homes
• Must be committed and looking for long-term employment
• Spanish-speaking is a plus
