Thrive Behavioral Health is currently hiring social workers and counselors with active unrestricted Maryland licenses such as LCSW-C, LCPC, LMSW, LGPC, LGDAC, LGPAT, LGMFT, or a similar license to work with Thrive's Cecil County Early Intervention Program. This year‑round opportunity targets students with behavioral challenges at school who are at risk for non‑public education. The goal is to provide behavioral support in school and home to reduce such behaviors. Services will be rendered in the Cecil County School Clusters and students’ homes.

SOME JOB DUTIES WILL BE VIRTUAL.

Additional earnings are possible.

Details of the job:

• The position is 40 hours a week year‑round, with scheduling flexibility.
• Therapist will not have more than 7 clients at any given time.
• The direct support of a Thrive therapist aide.
• Experience with a younger population of 3 years old and up is highly desired.
• Must be familiar with multiple intervention types.
• Able to form strong connections with integral school staff and families.

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Maintain an active caseload list of Early Intervention students.
• Attend interest meetings with the Early Intervention team.
• Assist in program development and related tasks.

This position is paid hourly; however, the therapist may elect supplemental income through a fee‑for‑service model. Desired candidates can collaborate effectively with a team of professionals, interact professionally, build productive relationships internally and externally, and confidently represent the agency and its mission.

Qualifications

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Knowledge of industry standards: organizational theory, research processes, accreditation, and regulatory standards.
• Provide therapeutic treatment consistent with treatment plans and conduct effective therapy sessions regularly.
• Work effectively with clients to implement solutions and model appropriate behaviors.
• Professional readiness: self‑awareness, diversity, ethics, and continuing education.
• Knowledge of PC software (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook) is preferred.
• Understanding of the code of ethics for the respective profession and seek consultation with supervisors when necessary.
• Strong written and oral communication skills; able to concentrate amid distractions.
• Work independently with little direct supervision in an unstructured environment.
• Reading and writing level equivalent to at least four years of college.
• Represent the program well in interactions inside and outside the facility.
• Working knowledge of DSM‑5 diagnoses and the ability to assess and diagnose accordingly.

AGE‑SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES (CHILDREN, 3‑17 YEARS)

• Collect, record, and analyze data and interactive social systems, including mental status and special precautions.
• Initiate/develop a treatment plan with specific goals and interventions unique to the patient’s needs.
• Implement appropriate interventions that promote physical and mental health.
• Recommend special precautions (e.g., safety planning or crisis intervention) as needed.
• Evaluate response to interventions and revise plans, including discharge criteria.
• Know normative developmental milestones by chronological age.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

1. Active, unrestricted, independent practice as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC), Licensed Graduate Marriage and Family Therapist (LGMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker‑Certified (LCSW‑C), Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist (LCMFT), or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Maryland.

2. CPR/FFA certification preferred.
