Job summary

Southern Oregon ESD seeks an Early Intervention Teaching Assistant I to support children with developmental delays under supervision of a classroom teacher and EI Specialist. The role focuses on group and individual activities to advance communication, cognitive, adaptive, motor, and social-emotional skills.

Location is at the Grants Pass ECS Office. The position runs 190 days per academic year with hourly pay under the collective bargaining agreement, and bilingual applicants are encouraged to

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of experience caring for children.
• Knowledge of behavior management techniques and developmentally appropriate practices.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions, communicate effectively, and build nurturing relationships.

Responsibilities

• Provide group and individual instruction for children as outlined in IFSP.
• Prepare activities and implement language, cognitive, self-help, social, and motor goals.
• Assist with feeding, toileting, and delegated nursing tasks as directed.
• Follow instructions of related service professionals regarding positioning and devices.
• Track attendance, progress, and maintain charting as required.
• Maintain a safe learning environment and participate in planning teams.
