# Early Intervention Specialist (Contract)## Description**Job Description:** Will provide support, education, and professional coaching to caregivers of children with disabilities. The early intervention specialist is responsible for planning and conducting a development program to coach caregivers in developing basic functional skills through participating in activities to strengthen existing skills and to determine current skill level. This position participates in the planning, implementation, recording and evaluation for the families served through The Arc Alliance Children’s Service Early Intervention Program. It includes responsibilities including but not limited to: direct therapy, coaching, completion and analysis of paperwork and billing, attendance at meetings, communication with staff, counties, county personnel and families, and foster effective and supportive relationships.**This is a contract position. There are open caseloads in Montgomery, Berks, and Bucks Counties.****Job Duties:*** Helps facilitate and foster effective and supportive relationships between individuals receiving services and The Arc Alliance and its affiliated agencies promoting the agency vision and mission;* Performs formal and informal evaluation of child’s abilities and development;* Provides coaching within the activities and routines of daily living with the caregiver;* Completes session notes established by the state that depicts progress, ideas to practice and a description of what was done during the session;* Maintains a direct service rate as determined by the agency;* Completes 24 hours of training required by the state (this includes the mandatory trainings as listed in the EI regulations);* Ability to assess equipment needs of the child and assist caregiver in utilizing.**Other:** All other duties as assigned## Qualifications**Qualifications:** Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in early intervention, early childhood special education, early childhood education, child development, special education, or family studies, (or 15 credit hours in one of the able areas) and one year full-time or full-time equivalent experience working directly with preschool children with disabilities and their families or a university/college-supervised student practicum or teaching experience with young children with disabilities and their families. Valid driver’s license, with automobile insurance. Must present a clean PA Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse, and FBI Criminal Record Check.**Requirements:** Current FBI, Criminal History and Child Abuse clearances will be required to at time of hire. Employee must be willing to update clearances as per regulations. The employee must be legally authorized to drive a motor vehicle in the State of Pennsylvania. They must have a valid Driver’s License and must have current automobile insurance. A 3-year driver record check is required at time of hire and it must be updated annually. Recommended automobile coverage with the following limits, $100,000/$300,000 for liability and $100,000 for property damage. The employee must be able and willing to drive throughout the counties that we provide services. **Physical Requirements:** Frequent communications (verbal and written), using and understanding testing tools specific to early intervention, frequent sitting, standing and ability to maneuver equipment, visually or otherwise identify, observe and assess.
