Job summary

Community Support Services of Missouri is seeking a First Steps Service Coordinator in Jasper County, based in Joplin, MO. This professional will oversee referral, intake, eligibility and IFSP implementation for Missouri’s First Steps Early Intervention program, serving as the SPOE for the DESE region.

The role emphasizes timely IFSP development, accurate record-keeping, and regular communication with families and service teams to coordinate services and monitor progress.

Qualifications

• Through knowledge of Missouri’s First Steps system, philosophy, rules and regulations.
• Good communication and interviewing skills.
• Ability to document thoroughly and maintain confidential files (HIPAA/FERPA).
• Organizational and time management skills; ability to use a computer.

Responsibilities

• Manage Missouri’s First Steps Early Intervention process and timelines (45 day, Initial, 6 Month Review, Transition).
• Develop and maintain electronic Early Intervention records in the Web-SPOE system.
• Initiate and maintain eligibility for First Steps families.
• Carry out activities for IFSP development and facilitate initial IFSP meetings within 45 days of referral.
• Attend monthly EIT meetings and maintain monthly contact with families to ensure services are provided.
