Job summary

SHORE UP! Inc. in Salisbury, MD seeks an Early Head Start Teacher to implement a developmentally appropriate classroom in line with Head Start standards. You will plan activities that foster cognition, literacy, social skills, and health, while assessing progress and maintaining required records.

You will communicate with families through home visits and conferences, promote healthy practices, and collaborate with staff and community partners to support young children’s growth and well-being.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Current Infant Toddler CDA Credential.
• Preferred: Associate or Bachelor's degree in ECE or related coursework.

Responsibilities

• Plan and provide learning opportunities supporting cognition, literacy, language, social, motor, and health development.
• Implement ongoing assessment of student progress.
• Follow Head Start and district policies for referrals if needed.
• Communicate with families via home visits, conferences, and notes.
• Promote health and nutrition practices and ensure safety.
• Maintain records as required by the program.
• Collaborate with staff, families, and community partners.
