Job summary

SWCAP is hiring an Early Head Start Teacher in Boscobel, WI to support infants and toddlers in a year-round, 40-hour work week. The role focuses on responsive caregiving, developmental activities, and family engagement in a licensed Head Start setting.

The selected candidate will use Creative Curriculum and ELOF, collaborate with Center staff and families, and ensure compliance with program standards while fostering a safe, engaging learning environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous childcare experience or education preferred.
• Ability to plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities.

Responsibilities

We are looking for an Early Head Start Teacher to join our Boscobel Head Start team! Make a meaningful difference in the lives of infants, toddlers, and families while building your career in early childhood education with a supportive team. This individual will work 40 hours a week, Monday-Friday 7:00AM-3:00PM with a starting rate of $18.78-$19.54 per hour. This is a year-round position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment that supports each child’s development, independence, and well-being.
• Provide responsive care and active supervision for infants and toddlers, including feeding, diapering, toileting, dressing, and emotional support.
• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate, child-centered activities using Creative Curriculum and the Early Learning Outcomes Framework (ELOF).
• Individualize learning experiences based on each child’s interests, strengths, developmental needs, and goals.
• Maintain classroom environments that meet licensing requirements, ITERS standards, and Creative Curriculum Fidelity.
• Conduct developmental screenings and document children’s progress toward developmental and school readiness goals.
• Build strong partnerships with families through home visits, parent-teacher conferences, family activities, and ongoing communication.
• Collaborate with teaching staff, Family Advocates, Center Coordinators, and families to support children and successful transitions.
• Use Conscious Discipline strategies to support positive relationships, emotional development, and problem-solving.
• Participate in required Head Start activities, follow program policies and timelines, and maintain compliance with Head Start Performance Standards.

• CPR with AED knowledge & First Aid certification for children and adults

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to move frequently and quickly, including running if necessary. This position requires frequent standing, bending, stooping, and lifting of children within weight range of up to 50 pounds.

  Must possess ability to use standard office equipment, including a computer; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.

Noise level in work environment ranges from moderate to high.

Assist students with personal toileting and potty training as needed. Assist in cleaning up accidents resulting in bodily fluid expulsion as needed. Strong odors may be present.

Must always maintain active supervision of students.
