Job summary

Rolling Plains Management Corporation is looking for a dedicated Early Head Start Teacher to join our Crowell Child Development Center. Job description

Early Head Start Teacher – Crowell Child Development Center

Location: Crowell, Texas

Employer: Rolling Plains Management Corporation (RPMC)

Status: Full‑Time (40 hours per week, primarily Monday–Friday; schedule may vary by Center)

Position Summary

The Early Head Start Teacher reports to the Center Director and is responsible for ensuring compliance with all program regulations and creating a safe, healthy, and engaging educational environment for enrolled infants, toddlers, and their families. The role supports a loving, caring environment, promotes cultural sensitivity and community awareness, and upholds the program’s Standards of Conduct. Orientation, pre‑service, and in‑service training are provided.

Qualifications
  • At least 18 years of age
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • CDA Credential in Infant/Toddler preferred; if not currently certified, will be classified as EHS Teacher in Training and must obtain CDA within one year (RPMC covers the cost of CDA)
  • Willing to take and pass a drug/alcohol test and comply with the Agency’s Drug‑Free Policy
  • Must pass regular criminal history checks
  • Must submit to TB tests as required
  • Must provide reliable self‑transportation for regional travel
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Texas driver’s license with appropriate classification and endorsements
  • Must maintain a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and meet minimum insurability requirements (MVR checks may be conducted by the Agency)
Physical Demands
  • Regular lifting of infants, toddlers, classroom supplies, and equipment; occasional lifting of furniture
  • Occasional pushing, pulling, lifting, or moving up to 25 pounds
  • Frequent sitting on the floor and working at child level for extended periods
  • Occasional squatting and bending
Work Environment
  • Ability to adapt to inclement weather conditions
  • Noise levels can be moderate to loud in the center environment
  • Ability to work in a stressful environment and manage stress effectively
  • Flexibility to work schedules as established by management
Travel Requirements
  • Light to normal travel for field trips, meetings, classes, and workshops within and outside the service area
  • Ability to drive occasionally long distances
  • Must be able to travel by air when required for training, conferences, and related activities
