Job summary

Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU) seeks an Early Head Start Child Development Assistant for the Early Discovery Center in West Chester, PA. This is a full-time, 260-day position serving infants and toddlers and supporting the Child Development Specialist by planning and conducting early childhood activities.

Qualified candidates need a CDA or Associate's Degree or be willing to attain CDA within one year; state clearances are required; prior childcare experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• CDA or Associates Degree; willing to attain CDA within one year (required)
• Previous childcare/preschool experience preferred
• State Criminal, Child Abuse & FBI Fingerprint, NSOR clearances required
• MA provider clearance by the Commonwealth of PA and federal government required
• Two professional written letters of reference

Responsibilities

• Assist the Child Development Specialist in planning and executing early childhood activities
• Establish and maintain an effective working relationship with adults and children
• Assist the teacher in caring for children
