Chester County Intermediate Unit is seeking Head Start Preschool Assistants to support early childhood programs. Responsibilities include assisting specialists in planning activities, building relationships, and caring for children.

Candidates must have a CDA or Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education within 2 years of hire. The position offers excellent medical coverage, life insurance, and retirement benefits.

Qualifications

• CDA or Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education required within 2 years of hire.
• Previous experience working in a childcare/preschool setting strongly preferred.
• Current police, child abuse & FBI Fingerprint clearances required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Child Development Specialist in planning early childhood activities.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with adults and children.
• Assist the teacher in caring for children.
