Job summary

Hill Country Community Action Association, Inc. seeks an Early Head Start Teacher to manage a classroom and implement the HS/EHS Service plan in compliance with Texas licensing standards.

The role focuses on creating a safe, supportive, and stimulating environment for infants and toddlers, with emphasis on family engagement and developmentally appropriate practice. The position requires annual pre-service training, a CDA or equivalent credential, and at least three months of relevant experience,

Qualifications

• Annual pre-service training is mandatory.
• Requires CDA or equivalent & 3+ months experience with infants/toddlers.
• Must have valid Class C driver's license and reliable vehicle; insurance.
• Must maintain CPR and First Aid certifications; comply with agency policies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a calm, safe classroom and playground reflecting cultural diversity.
• Observe children and provide positive guidance to promote self-esteem.
• Plan and implement daily lesson plans aligned with Head Start standards.
• Engage families and support parental involvement in children’s learning.
• Document progress and maintain child records and files.
• Coordinate with Family Service staff for home visits and conferences.
