Job summary

NeighborImpact’s Early Head Start program delivers comprehensive early childhood education and family support for families with children from birth to age three, and pregnant women. The role centers on supporting parents as their child’s first teachers, delivering education and family services to promote school readiness and secure parent-child relationships.

Weekly home visits, bi-monthly family gatherings, and collaborative work with colleagues are key.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education, or Family Development or related field.
• Within 18 months: 120 training hours or 11 college credits in social work, human services, family services, counseling or related field.
• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Family Development or related field.
• Availability for some evening and weekend hours.
• Valid driver's license, proof of auto insurance, access to reliable transportation.
• Current Food Handler’s Card and Oregon CB Registry enrollment; keep certifications current.

Responsibilities

• Provide early, continuous, intensive, comprehensive child development and family support services to pregnant women, infants and toddlers.
• Craft, organize and document educational activities tailored to children's developmental stages.
• Conduct weekly 90-minute home visits to monitor family objectives.
• Coordinate bi-monthly gatherings for participating families.
• Engage with diverse, underserved communities using strong communication and adaptability.
