Allies for Every Child in Los Angeles is seeking a Home Educator to provide child development services, social services, health services and parent involvement to families within the Head Start program. Responsibilities include home visits, family engagement, record-keeping, and collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team to support each child’s growth.

Qualifications

• BA degree in Child Development or a related field, with transcripts.
• Six semester units related to infant and toddler development.
• 1–2 years’ work experience as a Home Educator or comparable position.
• Valid Driver’s License and access to a privately owned vehicle with liability insurance.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a caseload of 12 EHS families and/or expecting families.
• Completes weekly 90-minute home visits with families and/or expecting families.
• Develops weekly home visit plans based on each child’s assessment and family needs.
• Maintains and preserves confidential client files and documents progress.
• Provides transportation to families to support participation.
• Participates in MDT and staff meetings and reflective supervision.
• Maintains accurate family files and documents in Child Plus.
• Delivers developmentally appropriate home-based lessons and activities.
• Assists in transitioning children to Pre-K or other programs.
