The Centre

Sherwood Forest is a beautiful 126 place centre that has been a big part of the Sherwood community for over 25 years. The centre is located just off Sherwood’s main street, within walking distance to Woolworths, Corinda Library, cafes, restaurants, post office, local playground, and Sherwood train station. The centre is an active part of the local community and embraces the opportunity for children to regularly explore and be part of it. The centre has plenty of on-street parking and is located a very short walk from Sherwood train station and multiple bus stops. We have 6 large learning spaces and a beautiful shady natural playground that inspires curiosity, creativity, and engagement.

The Opportunity

As an Early Childhood Teacher, you will be part of a passionate team where you will enjoy:

1. Leading a team of educators with a focus on individual development and mentoring in the education, care, and supervision of each child at the centre.
2. Building lasting and meaningful relationships with families, so they feel informed and sure their children are receiving the best education and care in the community.
3. Supporting Educators to deliver the best in contemporary early childhood thinking and practice and supporting the centre leadership team to implement and embed the Guardian Curriculum.
4. Making your Centre an example of why Guardian is driven by its mindsets of being brave, positive, thoughtful, and professional in all aspects of what we do.
5. Implementing an educational program that is visible in the centre environment and on Storypark, that provides opportunities for families, children, and educators to view and contribute their ideas and suggestions to the program. This includes maintaining children’s learning and development profiles.
6. Contributing to the self-assessment process and the strategies for continuous improvement.

To be considered, you will have:

1. Bachelor's in early childhood education OR equivalent.
2. Proven knowledge of the National Quality Framework.
3. Previous experience working in the early childhood sector as an Early Childhood Teacher (mandatory).
4. Valid Working with Children’s Check (QLD Paid Blue Card).
