Job summary

Mercy Health in Lima, OH seeks a Teacher I to support daily care, supervision, and development of young children in a safe, nurturing classroom. You’ll implement age-appropriate learning activities, maintain routines, and build strong relationships with families while following licensing guidelines.

Responsibilities include planning activities, supervising routines, communicating with parents, coordinating with staff, preparing materials, and supporting health and safety policies.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience in Early Childhood Education (required).
• Background screenings as required by state.
• First Aid and CPR certification within state-specific timeline.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement age-appropriate educational activities and classroom experiences.
• Supervise children during daily routines to ensure safety and engagement.
• Maintain open communication with parents regarding development and activities.
• Support operations by coordinating with the Program Teacher and aides while maintaining ratios.
• Prepare and organize educational materials and learning environments.
• Promote health and safety by following policies and documenting incidents.
• Maintain classroom supplies and coordinate food and materials.
• Respond professionally to parent concerns and support service recovery.
