Job summary

Encompass Child Care Inc. seeks a Child Care Teacher to deliver HighScope-based early learning, supporting physical, social, cognitive, and developmental growth.

You will foster belonging and independence while communicating with families and upholding standards. The role requires experience in early childhood education, meeting DCF/NAEYC requirements, and ongoing trainings; experience with HighScope and inclusive practices is valued.

Qualifications

• Must be registered with or eligible to register with The Registry.
• Lead Educators must meet DCF and NAEYC education requirements.
• Must obtain Pediatric First Aid, CPR/AED, and mandatory trainings.
• Prior experience in early childhood education is required.
• Experience with HighScope or Conscious Discipline is preferred.
• Experience in a NAEYC-accredited program is preferred.

• Build positive, respectful relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
• Communicate effectively while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
• Use classroom technology to support documentation, assessment, and requirements.

• Collaborate with team to foster a positive workplace culture.
• Ensure compliance with DCF teacher-to-child ratios and scheduling needs.
• Complete required background checks and regulatory trainings.
• Uphold agency values and align practices with standards and ethics.
• Adhere to HighScope, COR Advantage, DCF, NAEYC, and YoungStar requirements.
