Job summary

Community Action Pioneer Valley, Inc. is seeking a Teacher to support Head Start classroom operations under the supervision of the Lead Teacher.

You will work with families and community partners to implement School Readiness goals and ensure safe, healthy learning environments. The role requires at least an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with nine months of ECE experience, and Department of Early Education and Care Teacher certification for the relevant age

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with nine months of experience in ECE setting.
• DEEC Teacher certification for appropriate age group.
• Must pass background checks including CORI, SORI, DCF checks and fingerprinting; MMRs and TB documentation required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain classroom operations per Head Start standards and EEC regulations.
• Work with parents and community members to implement School Readiness goals.
• Supervise children and ensure a healthy, safe learning environment.
• Complete weekly curriculum, maintain anecdotal records, child assessments, home visits and family conferences.
• Cover for bus monitor and other classrooms as needed; adhere to confidentiality policies.
