Early Childhood - Teacher Assistant/Aide

$12.00/hr - $15.00/hr

Summary

The Teacher Assistant supports the Teachers and the Director by helping to create a caring and safe environment for the children and assisting in activities to improve the overall care and quality of education. They must be able to communicate, listen, and work well with others in a team environment. Responsibilities include implementing developmentally appropriate activities, observing and documenting children's interests and progress, and relaying information to parents and staff. Teacher Assistants are responsible for supporting the educational program and fostering positive relationships with children and parents.

Duties
  • Assist in implementing curriculum activities and encourage participation.
  • Engage actively in activities; manage classroom materials.
  • Communicate regularly with parents through discussions and reports.
  • Model good hygiene and self-help behaviors.
  • Support smooth transitions from home to child care.
  • Follow all policies and regulations.
  • Maintain personal professional development plans.
Requirements
  • 1-2 years of professional child care experience.
  • High energy and ability to work well with others.
  • Strong communication skills and basic computer skills.
  • Understanding of child development.
  • Leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Clear background check and health screening.
