Job summary

Brightpoint seeks an Early Childhood Teacher for the Scott Early Learning Center in Bloomington, IN, to support children aged 0–3 using Head Start, Early Head Start and Creative Curriculum®. You will develop lesson plans, meet with families, and collaborate with a caring team to promote social, emotional, physical and cognitive growth through play and hands-on activities.

Qualifications include an Associate's Degree or CDA with required credits, plus at least 1 year of experience.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Child Development or related field with 18+ hours of ECE credits or CDA with 30 college credits completed including 12 hours in ECE.
• Ability to obtain Gateways Level 4 credentials within 12 months of employment.
• Minimum of 1 year experience working with children and/or families.

Responsibilities

• Participates in classroom curriculum implementation to support high quality teaching and learning practices reflecting mandated elements and parental/cultural influences.
• Responsible for education requirements of children in assigned classroom, including all required screenings.
• Assesses children and documents results.
• Collaborates with teaching team to establish guidelines and goals for the classroom and contribute ideas for lesson plans.
• Conducts small group, large group, and individualized activities.
• Actively supervises and ensures safety and wellbeing of all children in indoor/outdoor environments.
• Maintains knowledge of therapeutic and educational approaches in early education.
• Prepares supplies and environment for activities.
