Job summary

South Central Community Action Program (SCCAP) seeks a Teacher Assistant in Bloomington, IN to support a Lead Teacher in planning developmentally appropriate early childhood activities for 3- to 5-year-olds.

You will help create strong family partnerships, follow Head Start and licensing standards, and contribute to high-quality classroom experiences while modeling respect and dignity for all participants.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CDA credential or an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education required.
• Basic computer skills (email, databases, MS Office).

Responsibilities

• Assist Lead Teacher with individual and group activities for 3- to 5-year-olds.
• Support positive discipline and parent–child interactions.
• Attend trainings and meetings; participate in events.
• Prepare meals/snacks and assist with housekeeping tasks.
• Travel to multiple sites within Monroe County as needed.
• Engage families in volunteering and family literacy services.
