Base pay range

$12.00/hr - $16.00/hr

Summary

The Teacher is responsible for developing a cohesive teaching team, coordinating the curriculum, and managing the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom. Teachers must understand children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development to ensure a safe and stimulating environment where children are actively engaged and encouraged to succeed. The Teacher must communicate effectively with children and adults, guide teacher assistants, and address parental concerns.

Duties

• Coordinate and implement educational curriculum based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards.
• Lead by example; encourage team success through modeling and coaching.
• Plan age-appropriate activities to promote social, cognitive, and emotional growth.
• Maintain communication with parents through discussions, reports, and conferences.
• Ensure compliance with center policies and state regulations.
• Maintain a healthy classroom environment, including hygiene and safety standards.
• Supervise teacher assistants and volunteers to ensure adherence to activities and standards.
• Keep accurate records and files.
• Engage in ongoing professional development for continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of professional child care experience.
• Strong communication skills and basic computer knowledge.
• High energy, teamwork skills, and understanding of child development.
• Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
• Pass background check and health screening.
• Associate’s Degree in early childhood education or related field with at least 30 credits in ECE.
• Ability to perform physical activities such as walking, kneeling, bending, and crawling.
• Visual abilities including seeing up close, colors, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
• Leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
